Section 58
Punishment To Those Who Cause Obstruction
If an person deliberately obstructs or hinders the Customs Officer or any employee of the Customs Office in the exercise of the powers conferred by this Act and the Rules framed under this Act, the Customs Officer shall punish such person with a fine not exceeding five thousand rupees or with imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or with both punishments, if such person is a governmental employee, and with a fine not exceeding one thousand rupees or with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or with both punishments if such person is not a governmental employee.
